Privacy Policy
How we handle your data, including local storage defaults, account sync, and third-party processing for specific features.
Last updated: March 19, 2026
1. Overview
CompletionsHub is designed with privacy as a core principle. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Most of the app works without an account and stores data locally in your browser.
2. Local Storage
By default, video collections and application preferences are stored locally in your browser using local storage. This includes:
- Your saved video collections
- Video URLs and notes
- Application preferences (video size, autoplay settings)
If you do not create an account, your collections and preferences stay local in your browser by default. If you sign in, your collections, preferences, and movie projects are additionally synced to our servers for cross-device access (see Section 3).
Some features still require server requests even without an account. For example, when you use Prompt Library or Prompt Topics, we may send video identifiers/URLs and related prompt content needed to retrieve prompts, cache results, and generate topic labels.
3. User Accounts
If you choose to sign in with an email magic link, we collect and store:
- Email address used to sign in to your account
- Session data to keep you signed in across visits
- Subscription status so we can verify access to Pro features
- Collections, preferences & movie projects synced to our servers for cross-device access
- Prompt library data including retrieved prompts and account-scoped prompt-topic results used to power Prompt Topics
When you first sign in, any existing local data (collections, preferences) is automatically migrated to your account for a seamless transition. Account data is stored in a secure database. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Payment Data
Payments are processed by our billing partner, Polar. When you subscribe:
- Payment details (card number, billing address) are handled entirely by Polar
- We never see or store your full payment information
- We receive subscription status updates (active, cancelled, etc.) to manage your access
Please refer to Polar's Privacy Policy for how they handle payment data.
5. Cookies & Sessions
If you sign in, we use session cookies to authenticate your requests. These are strictly functional — we do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. Analytics, if any, are privacy-respecting and anonymized.
6. Third-Party Services
The app interacts with the following third-party services:
- Polar — processes subscription payments
- Cloudflare Email Service — delivers account emails such as magic-link sign-in messages
Each service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data, including Cloudflare's privacy policy.
7. Published Collections & Sharing
Users can share collections and movie variants with public URLs. When you publish live links or create snapshots:
- The collection/movie name and referenced video URLs become publicly viewable by anyone with the link
- We record anonymous page-view counts (timestamp only — no visitor IP addresses or identities are stored) for published collections
- Snapshot shares store a frozen copy of collection/movie data (name and clip/video identifiers) in our database
Live links can be unpublished at any time, which immediately removes public access. Snapshot links are immutable and remain available until deleted by account removal or operational cleanup.
8. Data We Don't Collect
If you use the app without an account, we do not create an account profile for you and we do not use third-party advertising trackers. Your collections and preferences remain local in your browser by default, but feature-specific requests (such as prompt retrieval/topic processing) may still send required identifiers or prompt content to our backend and service providers.
9. Data Control & Deletion
You have full control over your data:
- Local data — delete collections or clear browser storage at any time
- Account data — delete your account from your account settings to remove all server-side data and cancel subscriptions
- Published collections — unpublish at any time to remove public access; deleting your account removes all published and shared content
- Contact submissions — request removal via the Contact dialog or by emailing [email protected]
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Material changes will be communicated where practical.
11. Contact Us
If you have questions about this privacy policy or want to request data deletion, please contact us through the Contact dialog or at [email protected].
